What we publish

Coverage explanations, practical checklists and scenario tools help you prepare questions about your property. The site does not issue insurance, decide underwriting eligibility, bind a policy or determine whether a claim will be paid.

How to read the sources

Expanded field guides link to regulators, the NFIP and original carrier explanations. A carrier’s description is evidence of that provider’s explanation, not proof that every policy has the same terms. Source-check dates identify actual review; they are not a promise that every linked program or price remains unchanged.

The knowledge articles, guides and coverage topics use the reviewed field-guide format. All state and DC collections now include a scoped research note. Existing location pages add official project or records resources, jurisdiction notes and selected FEMA community references. Community participation, row refresh, retrieval and reported map dates are distinct; the tables do not locate a parcel or establish its current flood zone. A source review is editorial work; it is not a licensed review of your policy, a parcel hazard assessment or a legal determination. Use the actual documents and the appropriate qualified professional for those decisions.

How the tools work

Methods and units appear beside each tool. Example numbers are labeled illustrative. Tools do not manufacture quotes or market returns. They keep entered financial figures in browser memory, with no account, public result URL or analytics payload containing the inputs.
